Believe it or not, kids across the five boroughs will be heading back to class soon.

Dozens of families in the Bronx got a huge helping hand Saturday gearing up for the new school year.

Spectrum, along with Madison Square Garden and other community groups and elected officials, held a backpack give away at the Northeast Bronx YMCA on East 229th Street.

Many other school supplies were also handed out.

The goal of the annual event is to make the cost of back-to-school shopping a little more affordable for families in the neighborhood.

Spectrum donated more than 200 backpacks.

Charter Communications is the parent company of Spectrum and NY1.
