ST. LOUIS—St. Louis Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Keisha Scarlett is on a temporary leave of absence following a special closed door Board of Education meeting Thursday.
This morning, the Board of Education announced Deputy Supt. Millicent Borishade as Acting Superintendent.
The meeting agenda includes a personnel matter but didn’t add any other details.
The Board of Education released this statement Friday morning:
“We are fully confident that, under Dr. Borishade’s leadership as Acting Superintendent, there will be no interruptions in the ongoing work and preparations for the upcoming school year.”
Dr. Scarlett has been on the job for a little more than a year after moving to St. Louis from Seattle.
