President Joe Biden has tested negative for COVID-19, his doctor said Tuesday, allowing him to return to the White House after isolating at his home in Delaware.

"I'm feeling well," Biden told reporters in Delaware as he boarded Air Force One to head back to Washington.

According to a letter from Biden's physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, Biden's "symptoms have resolved."

"Over the course of his infection, he never manifested a fever, and his vital signs remained normal, to include pulse oximetry," he wrote. "His lungs remained clear."

The president will continue to be monitored for any recurrence of the illness, his doctor added, noting that Biden "continues to perform all of his presidential duties."

Biden is set to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday at the White House, one day after the leader's joint address to Congress.

The president first tested positive last week ahead of a campaign even in Nevada. Days later, he suspended his campaign for reelection and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who coalesced the party around her bid in quick fashion.

He is set to give an Oval Office address on Wednesday to discuss ending his bid for the White House.
