Lou Dobbs, the conservative political pundit and TV host who was a nightly presence on Fox Business Network for more than a decade, has died. He was 78.

His death was announced Thursday in a post on his official X, formerly Twitter, account, which called him a “fighter till the very end – fighting for what mattered to him the most, God, his family and the country.”

Dobbs worked at CNN and the Fox Business Network over his decades in media. He hosted a radio and online streaming show since his Fox Business Network show was canceled in 2021 amid billion-dollar lawsuits by two voting machine companies that Dobbs falsely accused of working to rig the 2020 presidential election against Trump.

In a post to his Truth Social platform on Thursday, former President Donald Trump honored Dobbs.

“The Great Lou Dobbs has just passed away — A friend, and truly incredible Journalist, Reporter, and Talent. He understood the World, and what was “happening,” better than others,” Trump wrote. “Lou was unique in so many ways, and loved our Country. Our warmest condolences to his wonderful wife, Debi, and family. He will be greatly missed!”
