LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Fans attending opening night of Bourbon & Beyond Thursday, Sept. 19 can expect to hear a little "Desert Rose" and "Roxanne."

Festival organizers announced July 15 that Sting, 17-time Grammy Award winner and former frontman of The Police, will headline night one of the four-day event. He replaces Neil Young, who dropped out of the festival in June due to illness in his band, Crazy Horse. 

The festival said he will perform some of his greatest hits with his new power rock trio, STING 3.0. It features guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas, who has performed with acts such as Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers. 

"While we will miss Neil Young at Bourbon this year, we're excited to welcome a music legend, Sting, to the Bourbon & Beyond lineup," said Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. "We've been trying to bring Sting to Bourbon for you since 2018, and it's an incredible honor to have him join us for what will undoubtedly be our biggest and most unforgettable year ever."

The sixth installment of the festival features a diverse and star-studded lineup, with five stages and 100 artists, organizers said. Sting and Beck will headline opening night, followed by Dave Matthews Band and Tedeschi Trucks Band (Friday, Sept. 20), Zach Bryan and Cody Jinks (Saturday, Sept. 21) and Tyler Childers and My Morning Jacket (Sunday, Sept. 22). Additional names set to perform include Matchbox Twenty, The National, Maren Morris, Young the Giant, Melissa Etheridge, The Beach Boys, Fleet Foxes and The War On Drugs.

Other highlights include culinary programming from some of the country's top chefs, along with a variety of bourbon tastings and workshops. 

Weekend general admission, VIP and Beyond VIP passes, along with single-day general admission passes and VIP passes for Thursday, Friday and Sunday are still available. Saturday single-day passes are sold out.
