A special event later this month will honor an award-winning Broadway performer. Day of Dance will offer a full day of free dance classes in memory of Hinton Battle. Battle was a three-time Tony-winning dancer, actor and choreographer.

He passed away in January at the age of 67.

He won those Tonys for his roles in “Sophisticated Ladies,” “The Tap Dance Kid,” and “Miss Saigon.”

Day of Dance on June 10 will offer classes inspired by Battle's career, ranging from ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop.

NY1's Rocco Vertuccio spoke with Anthony Wayne, the founder and Executive Director of the non-profit Black Broadway Men, one of the groups organizing this Day of Dance.
