On the heels of a NY1 investigation that looks into how the NYPD responds to mental health calls, Errol Louis discussed the training NYPD officers receive, with Charles Lieberman of Mercy University.

Lieberman was part of the team that developed the crisis intervention teaching in 2015, when he worked at the Office of the Deputy commissioner of Training's Special Projects unit at the NYPD.

They discussed whether the officers followed the training, in the case of Win Rozario, the 19-year-old who was recently killed by police. And they talked about de-escalation tactics and what the NYPD can learn from other cities.
