ST. LOUIS— The National Weather Service said a weakened tornado moved near Interstate 64 and Clarkson Road and Olive Boulevard in Chesterfield during last night's storms.
The tornado started at 6:32 p.m. and dissipated at 6:35 p.m. It was an EF0 with a length of two miles.
The NWS was also in Bonne Terre Tuesday morning surveying for possible tornadoes but none of have been reported. The storms produced large hail, damaging winds and downed power lines across St. Louis County and City.
There were several reports of golf ball-sized hail around in west St. Louis County. Greg Baker shared video with Spectrum News showing hail pelting cars on a parking lot in Chesterfield. There are also reports of damage around the Chesterfield Mall area.
As the storm moved east, the Maryland Heights area also got hit with hail. Parts of north St. Louis County got pummeled too. A resident from St. John said he saw grape-sized hail at his house.
