Police officers throughout the region Friday placed bunting and candles to honor his life and legacy.

That was just one event honoring Diller, who was shot and killed in Far Rockaway Monday while conducting a traffic stop.

On Staten Island, police advocacy group Blue Lives Matter held a march honoring Diller’s life and dedication to the department.

The Mets paid tribute to Diller on Opening Day, putting his picture on the big screen and holding a moment of silence.

Diller lived with his wife and 1-year-old son in Massapequa Park on Long Island, which was where his wake was held for a second day Friday.

Law enforcement colleagues, family and friends sent their condolences.

“The last five days have been a living nightmare for this family. This is a close-knit family dedicated to service. His wife [is] a nurse, helping people every single day just like hero police officer Jonathan Diller did every single day,” President Police Benevolent Association Patrick Hendry said.

In Queens, hearings for both defendants were underway Friday.

Police said Lindy Jones, 41, the driver of the car at the traffic stop, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and defacing a weapon.

Guy Rivera, 34, was accused of shooting and killing Diller and was charged with murder in the first degree, according to officials.
