DOVER, Fla. — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled a large house fire early Wednesday morning in Dover.

Crews were called out around 3:21 a.m. for a small barn fire on 14360 Sydney Rd. and discovered a two-story house with an attached barn ablaze.

Fire rescue said crews could see a column of smoke from a distance as they traveled down a long dirt road to the home.

Officials said all occupants were reported to be out of the house when crews arrived.

Firefighters utilized water tanker trucks that hold thousands of gallons of water to fight the blaze.

One firefighter was transported to the hospital due to medical issues, and not because of injuries related to the fire, officials said.
