History was made at the 2024 Miss America pageant. It was the first time an active-duty service member won the title.

Madison Marsh, 22, is a second lieutenant in the U.S. air force and represented the state of Colorado.

She is also a master’s student in the Harvard Kennedy School’s public policy program.

Marsh joined NY1 anchor Annika Pergament on “The Rush Hour” Wednesday to talk about the win, serving her country and pursuing cancer research.
