The Williamsburg Bridge reopened to traffic and trains after closing for a police investigation during the Friday morning rush hour, authorities said.
The NYPD barred access to the bridge after a person was reported on top of the structure around 3 a.m., police said. The bridge reopened after emergency responders safely removed the person from the bridge, the NYPD said.
J train service was temporarily suspended between Delancey Street-Essex Street and Myrtle Avenue as police responded to the incident, the MTA said.
M train service was also temporarily suspended between 57th Street and Myrtle Avenue, according to the agency.
The MTA advised commuters to expect “severe delays” in both directions on the J and M train lines after the police investigation wrapped up.
