Every Tuesday and Friday, some of the best basketball players in Central New York hit the hardwood to show who’s best.

“If you're a basketball fan, it's really the place to be in the summer,” Club founder Mike Sugamosto said.

Founded by current SUNY Morrisville assistant basketball coach Mike Sugamosto 10 years ago, the club has seen incredible growth.

“We started as just your average men's league, and then just over time it really sunk in some time into it creativity, into it, to get it to where it's at," Sugamosto said. "So it's my baby. And to see it go this far has been a blessing for sure.”

The club now attracts some of the most talented players across New York state. Former professional and amateur players, including the likes of Syracuse natives, and current college players Symir Torrence and Luke Sutherland.

“It's truly a testimony as to what kind of talent we have in our backyard that's homegrown, or even with an hour or two," Sugamosto said. "Just to have it all under one roof is amazing. It makes it very entertaining to watch. Every single week goes by and we see new names come in. I mean, there's new players playing tonight for their first time this year that have played professionally overseas or in the States. So it's truly amazing. I've said it so many times, but just the talent pool is rewarding to have together all under one roof for sure.”

As important as providing entertainment is, the club puts a focus on players honing their craft in the downtime of summer.

“It would be horrible to come home from overseas and not play and kind of fall off," Sugamosto said. "So we're happy to provide, you know, a one stop shop for development, fun and truly a safe environment to just watch basketball.”
