The MTA plans to increase fares and tolls in the first hike since before the pandemic.
Under the proposal, the MTA would increase the base fare for a subway ride 15 cents, to $2.90 from $2.75. A seven-day unlimited pass would go up a dollar, to $34 from $33. A 30-day unlimited pass would increase to $132 from $127.
A ride on the express bus would cost $7, and an unlimited seven-day pass would cost $64.
There are two proposals for toll increases.
E-ZPass tolls on the six major MTA crossings could increase to $6.96 or $7.01. That's for the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, the Throgs Neck Bridge, the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and the Queens-Midtown Tunnel and the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel.
