A woman and a teenage girl were killed in a Brooklyn fire that police say they have deemed “suspicious.”

The fire started in a three-story apartment building at 136 Fountain Ave., between Liberty and Glenmore avenues in East New York, around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

A 36-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 17-year-old girl who was taken to Brookdale Medical Center in critical condition succumbed to her injuries there, the NYPD said.

Three other children — a 10-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy — were also rushed to Brookdale Medical Center, police said. The 14-year-old girl and the boy were listed in critical condition, and the 10-year-old girl was listed in serious condition, according to police.

A man whose age wasn't immediately released was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in stable condition, the NYPD said. The relationship among the victims is unclear.

Fire officials say they are investigating the presence of an accelerant found by the doorway in the hall leading to the apartment where the fire started.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control about an hour after arriving on scene, the FDNY said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
