It's easy to be enveloped by light and sound walking through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for its "Lightscape" illuminated spectacular. There are more than 1 million lights along a one-mile trail that winds through the 52-acre oasis in Brooklyn.
"It's great just to be outdoors and interacting with the familiar landscape that's become suddenly very unfamiliar," said Adrian Benepe, president and CEO of the garden.
"Lightscape" features new illuminated artworks from local and international artists, plus returning showstoppers like the Winter Cathedral, a popular spot for photos, and the Fire Garden. Both are back from last year's "Lightscape" debut at the garden, which Benepe said was a smash success.
There are stops for food and beverages to warm everyone up, like hot chocolate and mulled wine. It is all part of the experience, which runs through Jan. 8.
"Lightscape" captures the beauty of the garden's collection with a bright twist. Find out more on the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's website.
