Just hours after the Bills Mafia got its first look at drawings of the new stadium, a previously scheduled Environmental Quality Review hearing was held Thursday.
It gave more details on the various studies that have led to the design and planning on the new stadium.
Neighbors also had their chance to comment and ask questions.
A common complaint was the amount of tax money being used to pay for the project.
Another concern was raised by an Orchard Park homeowner. He wants to know if he would lose land to a newly constructed sidewalk, and how an updated sewer system and increase in water pressure on public lines would affect hid older house.
Another neighbor wanted to make sure the county doesn’t miss what he calls any business opportunities.
“This has been an economic driver,” Richard Lester said. “It’s important to low income counties such as Erie County, given the situation, it’s imperative that the plan and county government come together and get a longer term business plan given the importance of the Buffalo Bills.”
Others commended the design and modernization of the new facility, but want to make sure the old stadium is commemorated in some way.
“Few stadiums have done this when then demo,” Richard Whipple said. “Place GPS coordinates for midfield and the end zones. Fans will appreciate that. There has been a lot of history at that stadium and fans will want to know where the old stadium was.
