Over 100 people spent part Friday afternoon at 130th and Park Avenue in East Harlem to honor the life of a 14-year-old boy who was gunned down Tuesday.
They released blue and white balloons into the sky — Justin Streeter’s favorite colors.

“Justin is…,” Jonathan Castro, Streeter’s godfather, paused. “He was just the most lovable kid I’ve ever met in my life.”
Police say Justin was leaving a deli off 128th and Park Avenue with a 15-year-old boy on Tuesday, when a gunman who was waiting on the corner targeted the pair.
The 15-year-old was shot in the leg and is expected to be okay. Justin was shot in the head and died hours later.
Just a few years ago, Streeter’s family left East Harlem for New Jersey to avoid the violence that found Streeter on Tuesday.
“His little brother is asking me questions. Is it safe to walk here? Is it safe to walk there? No seven-year-old should be asking that question,” Castro said.
