TAMPA, Fla. — Running back Leonard Fournette is returning to the Buccaneers.
Fournette, who visited with the New England Patriots as recently as Monday, agreed to a three-year, $21-million contract with Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
The fifth-year back our of LSU is coming off his most complete overall season, combining for 1,266 total yards (812 rushing, 454 receiving) and 10 touchdowns.
Fournette, 27, joined the Bucs heading into the 2020 season.
He took over for an injured Ronald Jones in the playoffs and helped lead the Bucs to the Super Bowl LV title.
“Playoff Lenny” ran 64 times for 300 yards and three touchdowns and added 18 receptions for 148 yards and a score during the postseason, including his 89 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs 31-9 Super Bowl win against Kansas City at Raymond James Stadium.
