Police say they've arrested a 27-year-old man who they believe was involved in a hit-and-run crash late Saturday night that killed a 33-year-old man who was trying to cross the Bruckner Expressway.
The NYPD says the body of the victim was found on the westbound side of the highway. Sources say he may have been intoxicated when he attempted to cross the Bruckner.

Police say they found an abandoned car on Sunday that they believe was involved in the crash about a mile from the crash scene, and when the driver returned to the vehicle he was taken into custody.
So far, he's being charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license.
Amani Washington lives very close to the Bruckner Expressway in Soundview and says cars often travel too fast.
“Lot of speeding, lot of speeding,” Washington said while filling up her car at a gas station nearby. “It happens a lot in this area they repaved the roads, at night it’s dark they speed.”
According to NYPD, the incident was the third fatal hit-and-run in less than 24 hours.
In the Bronx, a man was trying to cross Broadway at West 262nd Street in Riverdale Saturday morning when he was struck by a white Mercedes.
And in Brooklyn, Dyral Brown, 63, was hit and killed by an SUV while crossing Atlantic Avenue near Nostrand Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Police say they are investigating all three incidents, which come as the city is seeing a rise in traffic fatalities. According to the NYPD, there were 94 pedestrian deaths this year as of Oct. 22, compared with 75 during the same period last year.
