NEW YORK — Two teenagers were stabbed Wednesday afternoon, according to the city police department, outside the same Bronx high school where someone was stabbed and others were struck by a car in a wild scene just last week.

The stabbings happened around 2:30 p.m. near Harry S. Truman High School.

“I feel scared, I feel fear, I feel helpless,” said Adriana Carbone, who had to pick up her son, Gianni, at P.S. 178, which is next to the high school. “It’s very disheartening, it’s very sad. It just makes me not want to send my kid to school, honestly.”

A video of the fight that NY1’s Dean Meminger obtained shows two boys fighting near the entrance to the school, with one of the boys bleeding heavily. In the video, a girl appears to try to break up the fight.

According to preliminary information from the NYPD, a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the face and the neck, and a 14-year-old girl was stabbed in the arm, by a suspect who is believed to be the girl’s ex-boyfriend.

Both victims were transported to Jacobi Medical Center and were expected to survive, according to police.

The NYPD said a 15-year-old boy, who is not identified, was taken into custody in connection to the stabbings. Charges are pending.

The victims are students, sources told NY1, but it’s not confirmed what school they go to. Several schools are in the area.

In a statement, a city education department spokesperson said the NYPD and the department are working closely together while police investigates the stabbings, and additional safety measures are being added to the school. It’s not clear what those measures are.

The school has safety agents and increased coverage by the NYPD, according to the education department.

The attack Wednesday was the second one around dismissal time near the school in the past eight days. On Sept. 21, several people were injured when a car struck them after a 17-year-old was stabbed outside Harry S. Truman High School, according to authorities.

According to preliminary information from the NYPD, it is believed that a 17-year-old — who does not go to the school — was with a group of men inside a BMW in front of the school when a fight broke out and the teenager was stabbed in the torso.

The teen fled into nearby P.S. 178 for safety — the same school that Carbone’s child attends.

“I’m not sure how he was able to get in so far,” Carbone said. “That was my question for the school: how did he get by the classrooms that the kids were able to hear what’s going on?”

She said her son heard someone screaming for help, and that children had to get under their tables.

“You would think they’d up everything, they’d up the security, they’d be on point, and it’s not, it’s just happening more frequently and closer together,” Carbone said. “It’s scary, because what’s gonna be next week?”

Councilman Kevin Riley, whose district includes the school complex, was at the scene Wednesday afternoon with his young daughter, calling for more school programs.

“We have a ton of students here that might have conflict or may get into conflict with each other,” Riley said. “We need a program here that can kind of intervene so this doesn’t escalate where a student is stabbed in the head and another student is slashed on the wrist.”
