QUEENS, N.Y. — In a bright yellow shirt, 29-year-old Argenis Rivas was led out of the 110th precinct Wednesday by NYPD investigators.
The Queens man was arrested for allegedly hitting a 4-year-old boy with his dirt bike over the weekend in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and then fleeing the scene.
Police sources say Rivas posted about the incident in a video on social media.
Someone called in a tip to the NYPD Crimestoppers hotline that lead to his arrest.
Rivas is being charged with several crimes including felony assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
He's also charged with reckless driving and driving without a license.
According to police sources, Rivas is affiliated with the Trinitarios gang.
He allegedly struck the four year old, who was at the park with his family, just before 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
Those who frequent the park say it's packed with families every weekend.
Posters offering a reward for information about the incident are posted all over the park.
Regulars there say speeding dirt bikes and ATVs are a normal sight at the parking lot near the boathouse.
