STATEN ISLAND — Jahade Chancey was a member of Demonlow Studios, a group of artists and entrepreneurs on Staten island.  In January, he and other members were at their studio on Van Duzer Street during an attempted robbery. Jahade was shot and later pronounced dead.

“My son was an amazing person, amazing," said Chancey's mother, Lashon Stockton. "And if anyone had a problem with them then something wasn’t right with them said Jahade Chancey's mother, Lashon Stockton.

“My brother was an awesome person who would give you the shirt off his back just like that," said Chancey's brother, Arty Stockton. "He was killed by jealous, broke people who have nothing to do with their lives."

On Wednesday, Jahade’s family and friends gathered outside the 120th Precinct on Staten Island as the final two suspects — Darren Boyd and Ming Liu — were charged with second degree murder and attempted burglary. A third person, Charles Brooks, was also charged with murder in May.

“Today means five months that my son has been gone," said Lashon Stockton. "Today is the day that justice is served."

Staten Island District Attorney Michael McMahon released a statement following the indictment saying: “Gun violence has no place in our communities, and my office will continue working tirelessly to hold these defendants fully accountable for their alleged actions as we seek justice for the victim and his loved ones in this tragic case."

The family said they're grateful for the police work that caught the suspects.

“I want to thank the 120," said Lashon Stockton, referring to the precinct. "I want to thank the detectives who worked so hard to get justice for my son. I want to thank anyone who played a part in getting those cowards off the street."
