NEW YORK — Police are investigating an attack on an Asian man at a subway station in Manhattan earlier this week as a hate crime.
It happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday at the East Broadway/Rutgers Street stop on the "F" line.
The NYPD says a man seen on surveillance video punched the 56-year-old victim in the face, knocking him unconscious.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for a cut lip, a black eye, and swelling on his head.
