The FDNY says nine people, including six children, were injured in an explosion in the Bronx Thursday afternoon.

Officials say it happened at a home on Paulding Avenue near Poplar Street at around 3:20 p.m.

Several windows were seen blown out at the scene, and a door was spotted on top of nearby power lines. 

NYC Health + Hospitals says all nine people who were injured did not suffer life-threatening injuries, though an FDNY chief had said earlier that two people were in critical condition. All the people who were injured were treated at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.

One person was treated and released, according to NYC Health + Hospitals, who added that a firefighter was also treated for a minor injury.

The fire marshal is investigating the incident as a gas leak explosion, according to a fire chief at the scene.

Officials say four families were displaced.The Red Cross says it is assisting two displaced families.
