PITTSBORO, N.C. – A new Black Lives Matter billboard has become an attraction.

The advocacy groups, RREPS and Emancipate NC, paid nearly $6,000 to have the sign installed this week next to a Confederate flag on U.S. Highway 64 Business. Money also came from other residents.

"They wanted this billboard to be raised in regards to the racist and biases that plague pretty much that small town," says Kerwin Pittman, the Executive Director for RREPS

The billboard will remain in place for a year. Drivers are now pulling over, stopping, and taking pictures of the display.
