NEW YORK - Mayor Bill de Blasio on Tuesday announced big changes to alternate side parking regulations.
When alternate side returns next Monday, June 29, streets will be cleaned no more than once per week.
Streets that have multiple alternate side days will be cleaned on the latest day posted on the sign.
These changes will be in place at least through the summer.
The mayor says the city will monitor the changes to see if any adjustments should be made.
Alternate side parking was first suspended in March so drivers didn't have to go outside during the pandemic.
It was brought back for one week in May so the city could clean the streets.
