NEW YORK - The New York City Police Department is investigating after a cyclist was struck and killed by an MTA bus Tuesday morning in Manhattan.

Police say the woman was hit just before 9 a.m. near Manhattan's Grand Army Plaza on 5th Avenue and 59th Street.

The driver of the MTA express bus stayed on the scene.

The city's Vision Zero website says as of May 30th, only four cyclists had been killed citywide this year.

There were 11 during the same time last year.
