On Thursday aproximately 10,000 mourners, protesters and activists gathered at Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn to pay respects to George Floyd, killed in Minneapolis police custody. Floyd's brother Terrence, a Brookyln resident, asked Rev. Kevin McCall to organize the memorial, which featured a hostile welcome to Mayor de Blasio. Rev. McCall saw the booing of the mayor as a sign of frustration, but emphasized that the day was about George Floyd.
