NEW YORK - Subways and buses will return to regular service once the city begins Phase One of reopening on Monday.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says face coverings will still be required and that MTA police and the NYPD will enforce the rule.

But transit officials say people who are not wearing masks should not be arrested or ticketed.

The state will provide one-million masks to be handed out and is asking to city to do the same.

To control overcrowding there will be messages and markers throughout the transit system, along with workers monitoring platforms.

Employers are being asked to stagger shifts and allow employees to work remotely as much as possible.
