Charitable organizations came together in Brooklyn on Saturday to hand out food, face masks and hand sanitizer to those in need.
The Brother’s BK, Snaps NYC and the Barbara Simmons Tenant Association joined forces for the second annual Community Giveaway in East Flatbush to hand out the essential supplies.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams attended the event, and said he sees the coronavirus crisis as a racial and socio-economic issue.
"I'm also focused on the economics of crisis,” Adams said. “Downstate can't be running a hospital on tape and band-aids and hospitals in the middle of Manhattan are getting multi-billion dollar stimulus dollars.”
The event also provided information about financial security, city resources, food pantries, and local businesses.
