BRONX, N.Y. - Sources tell NY1 an off-duty NYPD officer is under arrest after an armed robbery in the Bronx.

Michael Latimer was taken into custody Thursday.

NY1 is told he was using his department-issued gun and bulletproof vest, when he and a second man robbed another person of a watch and marijuana in Allerton.

Latimer and the second suspected robber were arrested after their car was stopped by police.

An investigation is ongoing.
