NEW YORK - The NYPD has released pictures of two men they say vandalized a Manhattan subway station during last week's citywide "day of action" protests against the MTA and police.

Police say the pair poured glue into MetroCard readers on three turnstiles, and chained open the service entry gate at the 96th Street station Friday.

They also allegedly put up stickers around the station before running off.

Demonstrators were demanding free subway rides and fewer police in subway stations.

Not all protests were destructive.

Police Commissioner Dermot Shea blasted the vandals, calling their actions dangerous and criminal.
