BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is calling for charges against a man caught on camera shouting profanities and racial slurs at one of its bus drivers.
The Brooklyner website says a witness recorded the video on the B68 bus on Tuesday night.
The man apparently refused to pay his fare because the bus was late.
The driver then told him to get out and refused to move until he did so.
After several minutes, the man finally gets up, slams the driver's barrier and spits at the driver before getting off and slamming the bus door.
The MTA says it has referred the matter to the NYPD.
The agency also put out a statement that said, "This is abhorrent, racist, and violent behavior, and any crimes committed should result in prosecution to the fullest extent of the law."
