"Well we have under construction, two new academic wings. Steel is going up and they're being enclosed now. And at the same time we're renovating two of the older buildings," says CHCCS Facilities Manager Bill Mullin.
Crews broke ground on the roughly $70 million project back in June 2018. More than a year later, Mullin says work remains on track.
Voters approved funds for the new school, saying the building badly needed repairs. Students and staff had to deal with mold and sub-standard air quality. They also risked security by having to go outside to enter other buildings.
Renovations will include new buildings, infrastructure and security measures. Work is expected to finish in early 2021.
