Bronx-ites waved their rainbow flags high Sunday for the Bronx World Pride Festival.
Dozens donned their brightest colors as they kicked things off with a rally attended by some special guests.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bronx DA Darcelle Clark addressed the crowd before joining them on a march.
Even though New York's World Pride festival is just days away, attendees NY1 spoke to said this is an important event to show the diversity in their home borough.
"This is one of the most amazing opportunity to show who we are," said one attendee. "We're proud of who we are. We live here in the Bronx. We were born and raised here in the Bronx. We have to show pride for that."
For the first time ever, the Bronx now features its own pride crosswalk on 149th Street, at Melrose and Third Avenue.
