NEW YORK - Disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner was released Tuesday from a Bronx halfway house.

Weiner served about 18 months of a 21 month sentence at a federal prison before moving to the halfway house in February.

He was found guilty for sending lewd text messages to a 15-year-old girl.

He also has to register as a level 1 sex offender and must be registered for a minimum of 20 years.

"It's good to be out, I hope to get back to my family and make up for lost time," Weiner told reporters Tuesday. "I feel like I am glad to be getting back to my family, I hope to be able to live a life of integrity and service. I'm glad this chapter of my life is behind me."

The Democrat served in the House from 1999 to 2011, representing Brooklyn and Queens.

He also ran for mayor three times.

When asked today if he would consider getting back into politics, Weiner declined to answer.
