A violent fight between a correction officer and a Rikers Island inmate was captured on surveillance video.

The clip shows the two struggling before the inmate knocks the officer to the ground.

A different angle shows the fight continue into a hallway.

While the officer is out of frame, the inmate throws a garbage can in his direction as two other inmates look on.

The inmate who attacked the officer runs off after that.

It's not clear exactly when the fight happened.
