Police have arrested one person in connection with the deadly stabbing of the 15-year-old in the Bronx.
Investigators say Kevin Alvarez faces murder, manslaughter and gang assault charges.
Police say Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, who was affectionately known as Junior, was attacked on Wednesday night outside a bodega on East 183rd street near Bathgate Avenue in Belmont.
"I want to say thank you for everybody who is helping me and support to give any information, anybody have it to have justice for junior because my son was innocent," said Leandra Feliz, the victim's mother. "The video show I want justice for my son. He was a good boy, very good, a little shy, and his dream was to be a police."
Guzman-Feliz was part the of the NYPD's Explorers Program and dreamed of becoming a police officer one day.
There will be a public wake held Monday and Tuesday at the R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home on Southern Boulvard from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
His funeral will be held Wednesday.
The Richard Izquierdo Health and Science Charter School, which Guzman-Feliz attended, has offered to pay for his funeral services.
