Staten Island Congressman Dan Donovan continues to fight back allegations he used his influence to get his girlfriend's son out of jail.
Timothy O'Connell, Donovan's girlfriend's son, had been arrested and charged with possession of heroin in 2015.
He was issued a desk appearance ticket, which means he did not spend the night in jail.
During a news confrence yesterday the congressman claims he had nothing to do with the case.
He says the complaint is just dirty politics.
"But to use our family and the addictions that so many people are going through with their own families for political gain is disgusting, outrageous, and the public should know about it."
Donovan is facing a tough re-election bid aganist former Congressman Michael Grimm.
