The chair of the city's public housing authority lied under oath.
That's according to the Department of Investigation.
NYCHA head Shola Olatoye testified before the public housing committee in December.
She said her staff had received special training to inspect apartments for lead paint — and that in 2016, 4,200 units were properly inspected.
Bronx City Council member Ritchie Torres requested the Department of Investigation look into her claims.
In a letter, the department announced it found that more than 85 percent of NYCHA employees never underwent special training.
The DOI also noted those who did complete the inspection course never actually visited the apartments in question.
NYCHA Spokesperson Jasmine Blake released a statement, saying in part, "The Chair was truthful and relied on the facts provided to her. She was told staff had been trained."
