A fundraising campaign is trying to help a Brooklyn family get back on its feet after a fire killed a mother and three of her children Monday.
As of the time of this writing, over $250,000 has been donated via a GoFundMe page to the Azan family, after the mother Aliza and three of her children were killed in a fire that ripped through their home in Sheepshead Bay.
11-year-old Moshe, 7-year-old Yitzah, and 3-year-old Henrietta were killed in the fire, along with their mother. Five others were able to escape, but the father and two teenagers were critically injured after jumping from the second-story of the home, according to the city fire department.
Fire marshals determined that the blaze was accidental, caused by a menorah that was lit to celebrate Hanukkah but was left unattended.
