NEW YORK - Superstitious New Yorkers will be on edge today for Friday the 13th.
The day is considered by some to be prone to bad luck.
It stems from a phenomenon known as Triskaidekaphobia, or fear of the number 13.
Because of the association with bad luck, many buildings in the city do not have a 13th floor.
Airlines also see a drop in business on Friday the 13th as nervous travelers avoid flying.
If you can dodge the bad luck this Friday, you'll be safe until the next Friday the 13th in April.
