A former featherweight boxer and Golden Gloves champion was sentenced this week for brutally murdering his girlfriend in Queens.
Trevis Hall, 31, will serve 25 years to life behind bars.
In December 2014, prosecutors say he approached 31-year-old Margarita Rivera on Watson Place in Jamaica, and stabbed her numerous times in the chest.
He also used a steel pipe to repeatedly beat her in the head.
Rivera managed to tell police who attacked her before succumbing to her injuries.
Following his arrest, the DA says investigators found a receipt in his pocket with a SKU number that matched the pipe at the murder scene.
His lawyer says they plan to appeal.
