The city is celebrating after completing the first phase of a program designed to make Bronx parks safer.
The Parks Department has placed 40 emergency call boxes in four different sections of the Bronx.
That includes Soundview Park, Pugsley Creek Park, Concrete Plant Park and Starlight Park.
The call boxes are equipped with blue lights to make them easier to find.
Installing them costs roughly $400,000.
This is just phase one of this program, with the city planning to install security cameras at a later date.
