A St. Albans man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a woman near her Cambria Heights home earlier this month.

Teriana Holcombe, 21, was shot and killed the night of August 15th. Now the Queens D-A says Jonel Lattore, 34, has been arraigned in Queens Criminal Court in connection with the shooting.

Police said it happened near the corner of 198th Street and Murdock Avenue in St. Albans, just blocks from the victim's home.

Prosecutors say Lattore was involved in a physical fight with a friend of Holcombe earlier in the day. Holcombe was walking with a group of friends that evening when Lattore allegedly approached them and opened fire, hitting Holcombe once in the head. She died at a local hospital.

Lattore is charged with second-degree murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment.  He's being held without bail and is due back in court September 8th. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
