A relentless community advocate will now be forever remembered on a Woodside street corner.

The intersection of 47th and 48th streets were officially co-named Dorothy Neary Way Saturday morning.

Neary died November 2014.

She moved to the neighborhood in 1930.

She was the editor of the United Forties Civic Association newsletter -- and fought to bring in more police to the neighborhood, cleaner streets and more.

"She was fiesty and she had an issue, she would go after it and not let it go." said daughter Patricia Neary Boyd.

"And she led by example. And Woodside is a better place to live and raise a family because of her dedication and what she did over the years and her volunteer efforts," said Council Member Elizabeth Crowley

Dorothy Neary was 94 years old.
