SENECA FALLS, N.Y. -- Members of the Seneca Falls town board had a change of heart Friday night.

It resulted in a vote to keep the Seneca Meadows Landfill open.

Last year the town board voted to close the landfill on route 414 by the year 2025.

However, Friday night the board passed "Local Law 2," which reversed that previous vote.

Environmental activists say they'll continue their fight to close the landfill.

Critics complain about the odor and sight, but the landfill is a major source of income for the town.

Seneca Meadows brings in up to $3 million per year according to town leaders.
