History lovers in Queens get a religious history lesson of Downtown Flushing.

The Queens Historical Society teamed up with the New York Landmarks Conservancy Sunday to host a free walking tour of sacred sites.

More than 30 history lovers visited three locations to learn about the religious past of Downtown Flushing.

The tour included a Quaker meeting house, an Episcopal church and a reform synagogue.

"We have a lot of history here and this is also the birthplace of religious freedom, so it is only right that we show them the churches and not only churches, synagogues, temples, mosques. We have every religious belief in Flushing," said Queens City Council Member Peter Koo.

About 150 landmarked, sacred sites throughout the state held open houses over the weekend. Organizers say Queens was the only place to offer a guided tour.
