CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. -- Extra security was called into Canandaigua City School District after a pair of social media posts promoted the district to call authorities. There were additional police officers at every district building Monday.

The district says someone alerted them to two SnapChat posts from a student directed at the district. They are described as alarming and inappropriate.

No other specifics on what was written have been released by the district or the Canandaigua Police Department. Police have not released any other information about the incidents or whether or not someone was arrested or is facing any charges.

The superintendent posted a video message on the district website and Facebook page. The district now plans to hold social media assemblies this week for students grades six through 12.
